AUSTRALIAN ASSURANCE IMPORT RESTRICTIONS (Reed. Dee. 4. 12 noon) NEW YORK, Dec. 2. The Ottawa correspondent of the New York Times says it is understood that the Canadians are satisfied with the Australian reassurances concerning the import restrictions and this view is likely to be followed by the majority of the Empire. Australia has undertaken, after the satisfaction of her essential needs for sterling resources, as far as is possible. to buy the residue in Canada. The correspondent adds that Canada’s trade is more likely to increase than decrease under the new arrangement
