PENSIONER’S MONEY

PURSE REPORTED MISSING Two old-age pensioners, Messrs. Robert Williamson and Robert Webby, sat down on a garden seat at the memorial on Read’s quay on Saturday morning to have a talk, and later reported that a purse containing over £7 in notes and silver was missing. A youth was sitting on the seat when the men arrived and the three conversed. Mr Williamson drew out his purse to show his friend a recent purchase, and they spent some time discussing the uses of ttie article and other matters of interest. The 'boy remained behind when they left. It was not long before Mr. Williamson noticed the loss of his money, tout the seat was vacant when they returned to the monument.
