GAMES AT THE OVAL EARLY PROGRESS REPORT Gomes at the Oval and High School grounds, played to-day under the auspices of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association, provided plenty of interest for onlookers, and conditions were conducive to the production of good batting form. Early progress reports, to 2.30 p.m., were as under: — Senior A Grade ■Old Boys v. Marist.—Old Boys, first innings, two wickets down for 54 runs (Martin 16 not out, S. D. Reeves 16 not out). G.H.5.0.'8, v. City.—City, first innings, two wickets for ?1 (P. H. Dow 15, G. H. Stewart 21 not out, J. K Somervell 23 not out). Senior B Grade Civil 'Service v. City.—Civil Service, one wicket down for 29 (B. Lee 11, Griffiths 10). United B v. Marist.—United, first innings, one wicket for 64 runs (B. Birr ell 33. L. Bign'all 18 not out).
