LOANS REJECTED
The three proposals to borrow a total of £27,000 submitted to the ratepayers of Hamilton on Wednesday by the Hamilton Borough Council were rejected by a substantial majority, in one case the majority against being over 4to 1. Sanction was sought for the raising of £10,300 for the purpose' of a site for civic purposes in Garden Place, £IO,OOO for sewer drainage extensions, and £OSOO for the provision; of conveniences in Hamilton East, Garden place and Frankton.
