MEN AND WOMEN GOLFERS

The proportion of women golfers in the South Island is much greater than in the North Island, according to figures quoted by Sir Alexander Roberts at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Golf Association. There were 1/1,887 men players and 8947 women players in North Island clubs affiliated to the association, said ,Sir Alexander, and in the South Island men players totalled 4823, and women 8616. There were 327 clubs affiliated, an increase of 12 during the year.
