SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT

W.E.C.M.R. BAND EFFORT

With the otbject of raising funds for the purchase of new instruments, the W.E.C.M.R. Band will conduct a concert to-morrow evening in the Majestic Theatre, at which the junior band will make its first public appearance. This band has been trained by Lieutenant A. Wood, whose success with similar organisations elsewhere has been responsible for the production of many first-class bandsmen for the senior groups. A feature of the programme will be (he rendering ol the “Centennial March,” composed by A. 11. Pettit, Dunedin, and chosen by a competent musical hoard as the distinctive entry in a large field of competitors in connection with the New Zealand centennial year. The W.E.C.M.R. Band will have the assistance of prominent local talent in staging the concert.
