Oyster Shells In Bock

While doing excavation work with the aid otf explosives on McDonald’s road, giving access to a native farm scheme at iManunui, Taumarunui, a few days ago, workmen found two large oyster shells im'bedded in tolue papa rock 20ft. below the surface. The sihells measured Gin. in length and over Gin. in 'breadth. There was much speculation among the men ns to how old the shells were, and how they came to toe found so far away from the sea.
