SCHOOL CLUBS

DISPLAYS AT NUHAKA CHILDREN COMPLIMENTED HIGH STANDARD REACHED (Herald Correspondent.) The Nuha'ka native and public schools held their annual calf club and sweet pea competition on Wednesday. In the morning judging look place in the native school grounds, 22 calves being paraded before the judges, Messrs. H. Schwass and C. Clayton. Parents and friends attended in large numbers. A delightful morning tea, which the children had baked themselves, was served to the guests. Mrs. M. Ryan and Miss Steed later judged the flower and vegetable sections. In the afternoon there was a splendid attendance of parents and friends at the public school, where the judging 0f,14 calves and five yearling took place. Messrs. F. H. Young and H. .Schwass, who acted as judges, congratulated the children on the fine type and splendid condition of the slock exhibited. Mrs. M. Ryan and Miss Steed, who judged the sweet pea section, complimented the children on the very nice display. In the shade of the beautiful school ground, a delicious afternoon tea was served by the children. At both schools the agricultural instructor, Mr. C. G. Calvert, spoke of the improvement in the exhibits in recent years. Results:—
