“War does not mean an end to Christian work, it means a chance to spread it,” said Mr. Howard Knight, who recently returned from missionary work in China, when addressing the ninety-third ann'ual meeting of the Auckland auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society. The speaker quoted the work of the missions in China as an example, and said that despite the Sino-Japanese war the Church in China was taking root.
Over 11 000,009 copies of the Scriptures were circulated by the society during the year, stateo ire annual report, and nine new languages had been added to the list of translations, making a total of 732.
