Gallipoli in Peacetime
“Gallipoli was especially interesting to me,” commented Brigadier-General Sir Herbert Hart at the weekly gathering of the Rotary Club, Palmerston North, in commenting on his work in the Near East as chief administrative officer there of the Imperial War Graves Commission. “It was particularly interesting,” he said, “to go back in peacetime and study the territory, going in some places in a. .motor car where, in the ‘bad old days’ you could hardly proceed even on your hands and knees. I had the pleasure of meeting the Turkish Chief of Staff and he was very anxious to go over the old ground with me, each to explain to the other our specijil difficulties. We have not had that pleasure yet, and now I don’t suppose we will." IDEA BRINGS FAME AND FORTUNE! Unknown yesterday—to-day famous a.nd rich—through a. small invention. Maybe you have an Idea.
