FISHING AT ROTORUA
GOOD SPORT ENJOYED TROUT UP TO 1 ILB. TAKEN Although the weather has been fairly boisterous during the past few days, several good catches have been taken by anglers in the more sheltered spots in the Rotorua lakes district. One of the most popular fishing, grounds has been Mission Bay, on the Okere side of Lake Rotorua, where good rises have been occurring. One angler secured his limit within two hours, while his companion took eight fish in the same time. There have also been good rises at the Rotorua end of the Ohau Channel, and anglers operating there have done fairly welt. Okataina continues to provide good sport, an Auckland visitor taking a limit trolling here’ on Monday, one trout being of tfib. Two anglers secured eight fish on the fly on Sunday, the heaviest being 11 lb. Another party of two rods secured 21 trout on one day and 23 the next. Several limits have also been taken at the trout pool on the Kaituna River.
