CASH PREFERRED

COMFORTS FOR TROOPS

.JOHANNESBURG, Oct. 20.

In response to inquiries on making comforts in South Africa for the use of troops oversea, the Natiorlal Supplies Control Board has stated that it considers it inadvisable for various women’s organisations to utilise large quantities of textiles, cotton, wool and similar materials imported from oversea for the purpose of making up articles intended to be sent back oversea.

The statement was issued by the South African Red Cross Society, which is in complete agreement with this view, and appeals to all those desirous of assisting the work of Red Cross Societies to collect cash, which would be used in providing relief and assistance.
