WOOL APPRAISEMENT
WORK STARTS IN NAPIER SIX VALUERS ENGAGED A team of six appraisers is on the job in the Port Ahuriri wool stores, Napier, carrying out the first appraisement of Hawke's Bay wool under the present war purchase plan, the team being smaller than was anticipated. With a total of 23,000 bales in the stores for appraisement, it is expected that it will be Saturday at least before the work in Napier is completed. The team is headed by Mr. Arthur Smith of Christchurch, the others being:—Mr. H. Piat, France; Mr. C. H. Carlton, Wellington; Messrs. F. Leonard, N. Le Cren and M. Kunzli, Christchurch.
