TESTS BY GOVERNMENT

"In order to decide the practical utility ot producer gas equipment to conserve the stocks of liquid fuel used by motor vehicles, the Government has decided that .a thorough investigation should be undertaken," stated a letter from the Oil Fuel Controller. Mr. G. L. Laurenson. read at a meeting of the Wellington Technical College Board.

The investigation', it was staled, would include the running of bench tests with different types of New Zealand and overseas producer gas plants, /tnd for an investigation of that kind it was necessary to have available a dynamometer to absorb the power produced by the engine during the test.
