GAOL FOR DESERTION
COMMUNIST DEPUTY POSSESSIONS SEIZED (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. 29, 2.50 p.m.) PARIS, Nov. 28. A court-martial, sitting at Amiens, sentenced to six years’ imprisonment a Communist deputy, Maurice Thorez, for failing to answer a call to the colours when mobilisation was decreed. The court-martial also ordered the confiscation of the property of Thorez who vanished following the suppression of the Communist Party.
