PERSONAL

Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Walker, Wellington, are visiting Gisborne, and intend staying a few days. Mrs Walker is staying with her father. Mr. C. 11. Ambridge, 210 Harris street. Mr. F. P. Furkert, senior surgical officer at the Auckland Hospital, has been granted leave of absence by the Hospital Board for the duration of his military service with the special force. Crs. G. D. Muirhead and H. H. De Costa were appointed by the Gisborne Borough Council last night to represent the council on the Thirty Thousand Club. This was done at the request of the club, so that such members could be called upon for assistance when required.
