FISHING AT TAUPO

FEW ANGLERS OUT Although there have not been many anglers fishing recently, fly fishermen who have been on Lake Taupo and the Waikato River report that fish taken have shown good condition. Mr. Peter Nathan took an evening limit catch on the dry fly, the largest being Tijlb.. and Squadron-Leader Davison also had a 7',’lb. fish on the dry fly, both fishing the Huka Lodge waters. Mr. Peter Savage took a 71b. fish in the same locality. Using the wet fly, Sir William Perry and his grandson took 13 fish near Hatepe, and nine fish the previous day at the mouth of the Waihora. These fish ranged from 41b. to 71b.
