WORLD-WIDE TRAVELS
AUCKLANDERS RETURN A tour of 53,000 miles by motor caravan and steamer was completed on Saturday with the return to Auckland of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allsop, who arrived from San Francisco on the Monterey. They began the tour in April, 1937.
During their absence Mr. and Mrs. Allsop have travelled 25,000 miles by land in Australia, Africa, Europe and North America. They have had innumerable adventures, some of which, were of a most exciting nature. Africa, particularly, provided much that was interesting and unexpected. From New Zealand they went to Australia and spent a considerable period in motoring over the continent. They (lien went to Capetown and travelled up through central regions as far north as the Belgian Congo, returning to Capetown by way of the west coast. Tours in Europe followed, and later they travelled many thousands of miles in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
