MAORI BATTALION

FUNDS FROM TOKOMARU ASSOCIATION FORMED (Special to the Herald.) TE PUIA, this day. The Tokomaru Bay Maori Patriotic Association has been formed for the purpose of raising funds, when necessary, for the aid of the men of the Maori Battalion and to provide fitting farewells.to all Maori volunteers leaving for training or active service.' This advice was received by the Waiapu County Council in a letter from the association, which named the following officers of the organisation: Chairman, Mr. H. Taumutu; secretary, Mr. J. M. Bennett; committee, Messrs. C. Collier. K. Teohaere, E. Potae, W. I Matahiki, S. Collins, P. Kopua, C. 'Babbington, H. Hautapu, T. Polac and, A. Karauria. {
