SUCCESSFUL SHOP DAY (Hernlil Correspondent.) A most successful shop day in aid of the funds of the Catholic Church was held in Ruatoria last Saturday under Mr. 11. F. Smyth's verandah, which had been loaned for the occasion. The stall-holders had no difficulty in selling all their goods in a short lime.
Those in charge were Mesdamcs P. G. Burton. R. Fry, Jack Hogan, J. Arnold, L. E. Williams, P. McHugh, and T. Venning, and Miss C. Fleming, who were the guests of Mrs. Burton to a delightful afternoon tea. The winners of the competitions were: —Mesdamcs T. Lister. S. Rudland (Te Araroa), and Messrs. ( harles Ferris, Max Gunn and Tula ITrngaron.
Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Teed, with their three small children, who have been Ihe guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. G. T! ompson, Tikitiki, have returned to their home in Papatoetoe, Auckland.
- -Miss Shirley Bright returned to her lit me in Gisborne at the week-end alter n fortnight’s holiday as the guest of Miss Cecily Gudgeon, Tikitiki.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Heald and their son. Mr. L. Heald. "Owhena.” Tokoman Bay, are paying a round oi visits among their relations at Flicks Bay and Lottin Point.—Mr. 11. 1. Hayden. Ruatoria. is on a brief visit to Gisborne.
