BOWLS AT KAHUTIA
FISKEN CUP MATCHES SECOND ROUND PLAYED The weather was not kind to bowlers on Saturday, but there was a good attendance at the Kahutia green and several interesting club matches were played, as well as the second round of the Fisken Cup series, in which the home teams met and defeated representatives from Te Karaka.
The club will be making its annual visit to Wairoa next week-end, and it is expected that there will be 30 members in the party. The bus will leave the Derby street intersection of Gladstone road at 8 a.m. If the weather is suitable on Wednesday evening floodlight bowls will be started on the basis of pick-up games. There will be three games of seven heads in the series. On Wednesday, December 6, a start will be made with the first of a number of floodlight tournaments.
