Disapproval of Regulations
Disapproval of the Government’s regulations for the control of patriotic funds was expressed by the Rangitikei County Council.
Rush For Holidays A rush of applications for camp accommodation in Napier for the fortnight covering Christmas and New Year indicates that unless cancellations are made no hutments will be available for further bookings. During the winter G 45 parties visited Kennedy Park camp, which since April last year has been visited ,by 4950 people.
IVaikanac Foreshore Drive Formal assent to the use of part of the Gisborne Harbour Board’s property in the neighbourhood of the leading lights at the Waikanae Beach, in the construction of the centennial foreshore drive, was given b.v the board to-day. The Gisborne borough Council wrote asking for the board's consent to construction work there, and the chairman, Mr. A. J. Nicol, stated that consent already had been given to all intents and purposes. the only condition being that no trees or other obstructions should be raised which would interfere with the functions of the leading lights. On Mr. Nmol's motion, the board ratified the' project, retaining the condition already referred to.
