The Gisborne borough Council wrote asking for the board's consent to construction work there, and the chairman, Mr. A. J. Nicol, stated that consent already had been given to all intents and purposes. the only condition being that no trees or other obstructions should be raised which would interfere with the functions of the leading lights. On Mr. Nmol's motion, the board ratified the' project, retaining the condition already referred to.
