CAFE MYSTERY

PROPRIETOR ARRESTED

Developments in connection will the cafe mystery at Hunlly look ;i

new turn on Wednesday. The pro prietor, Charles Kitchener Blackmore, who was found in the cafe on Tuesday morning in an unconscious condition, was arrested by Detective-Sergeant J. Nalder, of Auckland.

Upon his discharge from the Waikato Hospital at 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday, Blackmore was arrested and taken to Hunlly. He appeared before Mr. E. J. Farrell, J.P., charged with unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl of the age of 13 years and 10 months. He was remanded in custody to appear at Auckland on Monday. No application was made for bail.
