STOLEN £SO NOTE

FOUND BY BANK CLERK A £SO note, stolen in Wellington in March, 1938, was detected on Wednesday by a clerk in the Hamilton North branch of the Bank of New Zealand, when it was paid in by a Hamilton firm along with some other money. The clerk noticed that the number corresponded with that of the stolen note.

The firm received the note from a client, who it is believed obtained the note from another Hamilton bank. It is thought that the note must have been in circulation for most of the time since it was reported missing.
