MATERNITY ANNEXE

PROVISION, IN OPOTIKI As a result of a visit to Opotiki by Dr. M. H. Watt, Director-General of Health, and Dr. L. S. Davis, the Opotiki Hospital Board has been informed that a maternity annexe and other necessary accommodation must be provided at the Opotiki ■Hospital. The total cost of the proposed building is £20,000, £IO,OOO of which is to be found by local bodies.

Plans and specifications are to be prepared at an early date and provision is to be made for a 12-bed annexe. Staff quarters will include accommodation for some of the present staff, who are occupying portion of the isolation ward.
