LONDON, Oct. 16.

The Hon. Thomas Brian McKelvie Fairfax, aged 16, succeeds his father, Lord Fairfax, who died yesterday. Lord Fairfax was at one time a bank clerk in New York. Two centuries ago the Fairfax family inherited an estate of more than 5,000,000 acres in Virginia, to which they migrated at settlers.
