NORTHLAND DISMAY

GUARANTEED PRICE DAIRYING VIEWS (Per Tress Association.) WHANGAREI, this clay. A conference of the Northland dairy companies was held yesterday to enable delegates to express their views on the guaranteed price for dairy produce.

The chairman, Mr. Appleton, said the industry received with dismay the announcement that last year's price was to be paid this year.

It was decided to recommend to the Dairy Council that in any discussion with the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, relating to the guaranteed price, a deficit or the absence of a surplus in the dairy account should be not considered relevant, since the world wage standards had not been admitted as a factor by the Government in fixing wages and hours for New Zealand, and that the relation between New Zealand values and the London realisations were never admitted as a consideration in the Primary Products Marketing Act.
