High Caste’s Winnings

High Caste, who scored a brilliant win in the C. B. Fisher Plate at Flemington. will not go to America for the rich Santa Anita Handicap, as reported throughout Australia, states the Sydney Sun. His owner, Mr. H. E. Tancred. ridiculed the story. The colt will return to Sydney, and it is likely that he will have a brief spell at his trainer’s stable before visiting Melbourne again for the important autumn races. Beaten in the two Derbies, High Caste gave the lie to suggestions that lie is lacking in stamina by his victory in the C. B. Fisher Plate, and this time next year lie might lie one of the greatest stayers in Australia. In a truly run race lie beat Landlaw and Mosaic decisively over a mile and a half.

His time, 2.301. was only a second and a half outside Elanage's Flemington record.

High Caste has been a splendid proposition for Mr. 11. E. Tancred, who purchased him last autumn for 70011 guineas. His earnings for his new owner now total ti 15.525, and this sum should be increased considerably next autumn.
