ASSAULT SUSPECTED

CAFE OWNER’S INJURIES POLICE INVESTIGATIONS (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. Charles Kitchener Blackmore, aged 22, single, the proprietor of an allnight cafe at Huntly, was discovered by a female employee lying unconscious among broken bottles behind the counter this morning. He was sent to hospital suffering from internal and head injuries. His condition is serious but he recovered consciousness this afternoon. The police suspect an assault. A detachment of detectives from Auckland is on the scene.
