FATHER REMANDED
ALLEGED RAZOR ATTACK INJURIES TO SON (Pur Press Association,) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. How a father had allegedly come home drunk, sworn at his wife and slashed his son with a razor necessitating the latter’s admission to the hospital, was described by SubInspector Packer in the Police Court to-day when Joseph Kirner, aged G 3, appeared on a charge of assaulting John Nicholas Kirner so as to cause him actual bodily harm yesterday. The application by the police for a week’s remand was granted. Accused had gone to his home last night in a drunken condition and apparently this was a frequent occurrence, said the sub-inspector. Kirner had used bad language to his wife, and one of his five sons had told him to put his head under the tap. Kirner senior had run for a razor and gashed his son’s throat, neck and chest. Fie later attacked another son and cut him on the leg. The first son was at present in hospital and was not fit to be interviewed. No application for bail was made.
