Mr. F. T. Robinson, Cook County clerk, left this morning for Wellington to attend a meeting of the Wellington branch of the Institute of County Clerks. The resignation of Mr. G. W. B. Lowson from the position of engineer to the Napier Harbour Board was accepted at a meeting of the board on Monday. Mr. Lowson was in charge of" the Napier breakwater scheme which has been in progress since 1935 and which was made available to shipping on Saturday morning. The Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt. Rev. G. V. Gerard, who is making his annual visit to the Te Karaka parish, is the guest of- the Rev. J. D. and Mrs. Hodgson. To-day IFis Lordship visited the outlying townships of the Motu district and to-morrow will be spent in the Mangatu end of the parish, His Lordship returning to Te Karaka in the evening to conduct a confirmation service in St. John’s Church. —'Special.
