WOMEN SENT TO GAOL
LISTENING-IN OFFENCE EVEN MUSIC BARRED (Reed. Nov, 22, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 21. The Rotterdam correspondent of The Times says that Thuringian women were sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment for listening to a foreign broadcast. The prosecutor emphasised that offenders against the order not to listen to foreign stations must be dealt with harshly., with a view to deterring others. It was an offence to listen to a foreign station even if it was broadcasting only music.
