SECOND-GRADE BUTTER PURCHASE BY BRITAIN (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day An increase in the price to be paid by the United Kingdom for .secondgrade creamery butter was announced by the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, in a broadcast last night. He said that since announcing the schedule of prices on Friday night, information had been received from the British Government that the deduction from the basic purchase price was to be 5s per cwt. for second-grade creamery butter instead of Gs, as originally. The finest basic purchase price is 112 s fid per cwt. sterling i'.o.b. Reference to the increase in prices to be paid for Australian cheese was also made by the Minister, who said it seemed that the prices New Zealand had obtained had resulted in an advantageous adjustment for Australia.
