“CHARLEY’S AUNT” ON SATURDAY “Charley’s Aunt,” an hilarious farce which has retained its wide popularity for many years, will begin a two-night season in the Opera House on Saturday, presented by the Celebrity Comedy Company. Many of the cast arc well known to local theatregoers, the leading comedian being Don Nieol, who appeared with the companies of “White Horse Inn” and “Balalaika.” He is supported by Shirley Ann Richards, an Australian film actress, who has appeared in the successful pictures “Dad and Dave Come to Town" and "Lovers and Luggers.” Mary Duncan. Althea Siddons and Leal Douglas were members of the cast of "The Women,” a play that recently drew large audiences in New Zealand, while other well-known nrlis's appearing in the Celebrity Comedy Company are John Fleeting, Phil Smith. Charlie Albert, Norman Barrington and Maisie Wallace. On Saturday afternoon there will lie a matinee of “Charley’s Aunt.” A second comedy. "Up in Mabel’s Room," wilt he presented by the company next Tuesday. The booking is al Tattersall and Bayly’s.
TO-MORROW AFTERNOON: FAMOUS ARTISTS RECITAL The famous Dutch-Austrian artists, Paul ;ind Diny Schramm, have arranged to give a recital at 2.30 pan. to-morrow in the City Hall. They ate noted for their brilliant performances on two pianos throughout the world. Gisborne music lovers will be pleased to learn that this exceptional treat is in store for them.
