The secretary’s report stated that as a result of the decision at the previous board meeting, the Tolaga Bay School Committee had been advised that in view of the difficuties of obtaining the desired site on the Domain, the board was of opinion that a suitable site on the Hauiti side of the river should be acquired. On the other hand, Mr. H. L. Tempest had forwarded the petition of 107 householders protesting against the intention of the board, on the ground that it would mc-an the use of the Uawa River bridge by a majority of the children attending the school.

The board discussed the matter at length, and eventually called upon the architect to prepare a report on the building site under discussion.
