ESCAPE OF OCCUPANTS (Reed. Nov. 20, 9 a.m.) MARTIGNY (Switzerland), Nov. 18. An avalanche of mud and stones from the 5000 ft. slopes of Mount Chavalard covered the village of Martigny 45ft. deep. , The population of several hundred escaped when the rains started. A considerable number of livestock perished.
