ANOTHER HOT' DAY

81 DEGREES AT BEACH

The maximum shade temperature recorded at the Waikanae Beach today was the same as for yesterday, the thermometer reading 31 degrees shortly after noon. The reading at the aerodrome was 76 degrees, compared with 78 degrees yesterday. The afternoon temperatures were slightly cooler, owing to a freshening of the sea breeze.

Hundreds of Gisborne people visited the Waikanae Beach this afternoon, and the other beaches within easy range of town were also well patronised.
