METHODIST OPPOSITION SUPPORT FOR OBJECTORS (Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. The South Canterbury Methodist synod, passed a resolution urging the Government not to grant wet canteens for military camps. A few dissentients urged that “wet” canteens would be the lesser of two evils, The synod expressed the unshakeable conviction that those who, with obedience to conscience feel they cannot bear arms or engage in military duty, should be supported by the church to the utmost of its ability.
