LOSSES DECREASING
(British Official Wireless.) Reed. 2.15 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 14. Up to November 4, 54 British ships, roughly totalling 238,000 tons, seven Allied of about 48,000 tons, and neutral ships of approximately 97,400 tons, had been destroyed by U-boat action.
The greatest losses to British shipping occurred at the beginning of the war, but although further losses must be expected, the average loss is steadily decreasing.
