ANOTHER LANDING
JAPANESE INVASION SOUTH CHINA DRIVE WITHOUT RESISTANCE STEP IN BLOCKADE (Eire. Tel. Copyright — United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. Hi, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 15. Messages from Tokio state that the Japanese Imperial headquarters has announced that Japanese forces had landed near P.akhoi, about 300 miles from French Iniio-China and 300 miles west of liong Kong.
The Japanese Foreign Office simultaneously issued a statement as follows: "In connection with the operation tho Government of Japan will adhere strictly to the policy hitherto pursued toward third Powers.”
The Hong Kong correspondent ot the British United Press stales that according to Macao reports, (he Japanese landing was effected at 9 a.m. ft was officially announced in Hong Kong that Japanese naval forces cooperated with large land forces, which landed without resistance and are at present advancing inland.
The operation is apparently another step in the blockade of China. The campaign in South China has been at a standstill since the fall of Canton in October of 1988.
