NORTH SEA EXPLOSION RESCUE OF CREW (Rccd. Nov 15, 11.50 a.in.) LONDON, Nov. 14. The freighter Matra was lost as a result of an explosion in the North Sea last night. The captain, _ pilot and 10 officers and 40 Lascars were taken off by a lifeboat which made three trips to the vessel. A tanker picked up other members of the crew who had rowed in the ship’s boat for several hours. One dead was left aboard the Matra. It is believed the Matra sank a mile from a destroyer.
