FIRST-DAY SUMMARY The offering of male stores on the first day of the Matawhero Cattle Fair yesterday totalled 2358, and the summary of prices realised during the sale was as follows: — Bullocks. —Best pens, £8 Is and £8 4s; medium, £7 and £7 2s. Two-year steers. — £4 10s to £(!; medium, £4 7s Cd. Yearling steers. —Top lines, £4 and £4 10s; generally, £3 7s upwards; small and poor, £2 15s and £2 19s. Jersey bullocks.—Fresh condition, £4 10s. Beef The entry of fat cattle was smaller than usual. Station cows made various figures, from £7 2s Cd to £lO. Bullocks, which were good, but not heavy, went to £9 12s Gd. Heifers reached £7 16s and £8 for good station sorts and finished Jersey cows £5 10s and £6 17s Gd.
