EAST COAST CATTLE SALE IN MORRINSVILLE IMPROVEMENT IN RATES At a special sale of East Coast cattle held in Morrinsville on Monday, there was a large attendance .of buyers, including a number from North Auckland, South Auckland and the Waikato districts. Competition throughout was steady. Grown steers sold more freely than younger cattle, keen interest being taken particularly in the offering of Polled Angus cows and Herefords heifers. A satisfactory sale resulted in a general clearance under the hammer at slightly improved rates. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that the principal sales were from the following owners:— Matahaia Station. —Three and four year Polled Angus steers, £lO to £lO 10s.
Maungatarata Station. Grown Polled Angus steers, £7 17s to £lO
I-likurangi Station. —Crown Polled Angus steers, £7 6s to £9 7s. Mr. R. Fraser. —Three-year ' Hereford steers, £8 2.s Gd to £9 17s. Mr. 11. J. Jackson. -4- Three-year Polled Angus steers. ‘£7 7s’.
