SOUTH AFRICAN JURIST FORMER REPUBLICAN (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 2.30 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 13. The King has approved of the appointment of Mr. Justice Nicolas Jackobyns cle Wet, the Chief Justice of the Union oi' South Africa, to be a member of the Privy Council. Mr. Justice de Wet was the chief censor and assistant State Attorney of the South African Republic during the early part of the Boer War. Later he was military secretary to General Botha until the end of the Boer War.
