TE KARAKA NEWS

SCHOOL COMMITTEE (Herald Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the To Karaka District High School Committee was held this week when there were present Messrs. C. Mills, chairman, T. L. Earnshaw, J. W, Nisbett, S: S. Sniilhers, and P. Jlarduere. The headmaster reported that, the foil number was lij'j primary and 75 secondary pupils, and the attendance was good. In view of the need for additional sports gear, the committee decided to make a further grant of £5 for that purpose.

Arrangements are being made to hold the annual calf club parade on November 27 in conjunction with a meeting of members’of the Home and School Association.

Mrs. W. V. Luttrell, Te Karaka, who has been staying with relatives in the Bay of Plenty, has left to visit friends in Taumaurunui. Miss Marion Calcott, Gisborne, has been the guest of Mrs. F. T. Fletcher, “The Bluegums." Te Karaka.
