Schoolboys’ Rowing Crew
With a view to building up the youths’ section of the activities of the Gisborne Rowing Club, the older | members are concentrating this season \ on the coaching of a Marist schooltoys’ crew. 11 is not intended that the boys should do any racing this season, the object being to teach thorn to row and how to get the full benefit out of the sport. By the time they start racing they will be developed and not be affected by the strain of a strenuous event. The crew consists of; T. J. Donovan, str., C. J. McCarthy, R. M. Martin and J. J. Mohan. The boys j have been allotted their own boat, which they will learn to care far | themselves. It is expected that more schoolboys will join their ranks with the idea of forming another four, and they would be under the same careful supervision. I
