AUCTION AT MATAWHERO
EASING IN MARKET
The market at the Cattle Fair which opened at the Matawhero saleyards to-day was somewhat easier, the decline being estimated at about 10s per head. One Bay of Plenty representative w»as operating, but the competition | generally came from local buyers, i The individual pen prices were:—
Two-year Steers. —A pen of Here-ford-'P.A. cross in good condition (p), £5 17s 6d; 100, Hereford, dehorned, good store condition (p), £6; 18, good condition, Hereford and P.A. (p), £4 16s; 20, P.A., store condition (p), £5 3s; 40, Hereford, plain store condition (p), £5 ss; 46, P.A., in good condition, £5 7s 6d; 18, P.A.-Hereford cross, good store condition, £4 17s; 7, Herefords and P.A., good size, full of condition, 2 and 3-year, £6 11s; 25, Hereford, medium size and condition, £4 7s 6d; 21, Hereford, good store condition, £5 14s; 7, store condition, £5 3s; 9, Herefords and Shorthorn, store condition, £4 12s; 20, Hereford, store condition, £4 16s.
Bullocks.—Seventy-seven, P.A., on account of Mr. J. L. Reeves, good condition, £8 4s; 19, 3-year, Hereford, store condition (p), £7; 4, medium size, P.A., full of condition, £7 2s.
Yearling Steers. —One hundred and forty-eight, Hereford, good frame and condition, £4 ss; 33, fairly good frame, store condition, £3 8s; 59, P.A., well grown, fresh condition and a good pen, £4 10s; 91, Polled Hereford, good size, with condition, £4 Is; 50, Hereford and P.A., good store condition, £4 ss; 40, in good condition, well grown, P.A.
