DENTIST FAREWELLED
LONG PRACTISE ENDED TRANSFER TO TAURANGA After having practised in Gisborne as a dentist for the past 30 years Mr. R. G. Crawford left to-day for Tauranga, where he will continue the work of his son, Mr. John Crawford, who has been called up for service in the dental corps of the New Zealand special forces.
Occasion was taken yesterday afternoon by members of the Gisborne branch of the New Zealand Dental Association to farewell Mr. Crawforct. and the gathering met in the rooms of Mr. L. Grey Barton. The high esteem in which Mr. Crawford was held in the community was referred to by Mr. Barton when presenting the guest of honour with a travelling case. It was explained that Mr. Crawford had held every office in the Gisborne branch of the association and had the honour of being elected one year as president of tlie New Zealand association A welcome was extended to Mr. Basil Page, Tolaga Bay, who has taken over Mr. Crawford’s practice in Gisborne.
Severai other members endorsed the remarks of the previous speaker, and extended their best wishes to Mr. C>-awford in his new sphere.
