DRINKING AT DANCES

MOTORISTS CAUTIONED

On the occasion of a recent dance in IVlorrinsvillo, the police cautioned a number of motorists that they were committing breaches of the Police Offences Act as it concerned drinking in motor cars in the vicinity of a dance hall. A number expressed ignorance that the new law was in operation. The law only concerns dances and hails to which admission is obtained by payment. It concerns not only dancers and motorists, but also those in charge of the hall. The police have the power to enter any hall or search any motor car without, warrant and take any liquor found.
