COMPETITION GAMES EARLY PROGRESS The Poverty Bay Cricket Association’s competition series were continued on the Oval and High School grounds this afternoon in bright sunshine, with a fresh breeze from the north-west. This is the third Saturday since the opening of the competitions and it marked the commencement of the second set of two-day matches in the A division. The scores in the games on the Oval at the time of going to press were:— Senior A Grade G.H.5.0.8. v. Marist.—G.H.S.O.B.. first innings, one wicket down for 28 (D. A. Wells 14, D. Cedcrwall 14 not out). City v. Old Boys.— City, first innings, two wickets down for 45 (P. H. Dow 2G not out, J. H. Somervell 15). Senior li Grade Marist v. G.H.5.0.8. White. —-Marist, first innings, seven wickets down for 39 (J. Hepburn 13; L. Roderick took five wickets for 24). Civil Service v. G.H.5.0.8. Blue. — Civil Service, first innings, seven wickets for 34 (H. Sebire 12 not out; K. Fleming look five wickets for 14).
